There are many, many ways to make the loop end for your clasp.
This is just one.  ;)
Start with about 5 or 6" of wire and bend one end over about 1.5" from the end.
Begin to make your loop by wrapping the wire around your pliers, then switch to holding it on the bottom of the pliers to finish the wrap.

Be sure this loop will be large enough for your hook to fit through!  ;)
Bring the wire around, then roll your loop so that it's centered over your wire.
Hold the loop with your pliers and wrap the wire about 2 or 3 times and clip close.

If your wraps aren't close together, just take your bent nose pliers and pinch them up.  ;)
With the clipped end facing you, grasp the wire right above the wrap and bend to the back.
Now make your loop as before, and wrap down to the first wrap.
Clip as close to the the first wrap as you can. Now squeeze gently with your pliers so that the clipped ends meet.  I find it really easy to do this step with the first notch in my crimping pliers. ;)

That's all there is to it. :)
If you want to get a little fancier, you can add a bead before making the second wrap.
If you want a little more fun detail, wrap the wire around your bead once before clipping.

Note: I did this tute really fast, so please excuse the bad pictures. I hope to have time to take better ones later. I'm also going to try to add more details and links to other wire working sites. In the meantime, if you have any questions,
